The phases plan was dumb to begin with. Numbers were achieved prior to the construction industry seeing a 20-30% increase across the board. The time line proposed never would have worked as the state approval process takes forever. When you backed into the numbers proposed they were super inflated. While I want to see the schools renovated/re-built ASAP, I’m am glad this was turned down. We’d all have paid a hearty increase in our taxes if this passed.

Yea it’s saying something when you have family working in both schools and they say that if the school makes it to the summer without collapsing or some outdated stuff in it catching fire that everyone who works there deserves a medal

Well that sucks if true, we’ve got two schools that are literally falling apart

They are not literally falling apart. I've been in 4 out of the 5. They are dated.

If the town did repairs when they should, we wouldn't be needing to spend $300 million dollars.

When Wethersfield high was renovated back in what was it? 2014-15? They found mercury and asbestos…I think we’re beyond repairs since the two schools in question have been around just as long

The one in old Wethersfield can only be described as badly retrofitted and has noticeable damages. Not to mention nearly had a fire from the heating/ac system this passed spring. And the one on the rocky hill line is in a rather similar boat
