Looking for places to hike

Looking for places to hike with my dog. He has black fur and ticks are hard to find on him so I prefer groomed trails but I will settle. I live in the Pawcatuck area and want to discover some new places. Any suggestions?

Ever been to Bluff Point or Haley Farm in Groton? So many different areas to walk out there.

You can get to Haley Farm via Bluff Point, that’s a nice hike. Definitely check out All Trails app and you may discover places you never knew existed.

Use the app AllTrails. It's great and I use it all the time. I'm on the otherside of the state otherwise I'd have some better recommendations for you, but I doubt you want to spend 2 hours driving to a place to hike.

Check out Pachaug SF on 49N in Voluntown. There are nice dirt roads to walk on and the main road in is paved. Plenty of trails off of those roads as well.

Look for the Smokey Bear sign on 49!

Depending on you willingness to drive: Arcadia in RI is on my list to explore eventually, and I've been to and can recommend Day Pond/Salmon River, Bigelow Hollow, Hurd state park, and the Nathan Hale homestead
