How do you know where it sold in the 60s?

A lot of those old pianos have dealer/manufacturer information tags/stickers on the sounding board or under the hatch

Piano is likely stamped inside the cover by the seller. I've seen a few, the oldest being from 1880s-ish. It makes sense that we find old pianos right near where they were made because of how bulky they are. I believe a good many of the oldest pianos were assembled on site. They'll keep turning up every once in a while.
