I would love to make a friend or some friends in CT. I live in the Hartford area. I’m engaged, work full time and would love to find someone I can make a connection with. I’m looking to make some positive changes in my life. I have been running on autopilot for so long as my social life has depleted into nothing.. just got a gym membership and trying to lose weight, looking to fix my social anxiety, trying to go out more and be my best self. If anyone would like to connect and become friends possibly, send me a message! :)

I think its a reddit thing where so many people think making friends is hard.

We get post like these all the time in this subreddit. Just talk to people and go out into the world. Even with Instagram I have made legit friends in other states not joking.

My wife and I moved up to Norwalk 12 years ago and now live in Stratford. As a married couple with no kids and no dogs it has been extremely difficult to meet people. The only place I've had great success is at group Fitness (F45 specifically). The people might be cold initially to the new person, but if you stick with it eventually you will make new friends. I have social anxiety and I was/am still able to make new friends once I got comfortable with my surroundings. Don't rush it.

Find a rock climbing gym! For some reason they seem to attract friendly and outgoing people. Great place to make friends.

Find a club, board games, chess, book club, gamers, etc. I also agree with rock climbing. Central CT has a surprising number of outdoor climbing spots. You take a lot of breaks when your climbing at a gym so people are hanging out a lot and it ends up being a pretty communal place.

Yeah it’s not easy, good for you for putting yourself out there. I would suggest to do something related to your hobbies, if you like a particular thing see to go for some workshops or events, more than likely you’ll bump into the same persons or slowly start talking online.

I’m trying to navigate those waters myself now, I’m in my late 30s and unable to have children. My friends try to include me in events but I can see it’s not always easy to do as most of the things they’re doing now is surrounding their family life. Good luck 🍀 😊

I started playing pickleball about a year and a half ago. It's pretty easy to pick up and a great way to meet people.
