I bought this one and was very satisfied with it's performance. I used it to sand alkyd urethane paint off a ceiling. Very aggressive! Very little dust escaped even though my shop vac' is weany.

Powered drywall sanders are extremely difficult to use on ceilings. They are heavy, awkward, messy, and exhausting.
Your best bet is probably a 9 inch round sanding pad on a pole. It takes some time but once you learn to let the sandpaper do the work it’s not too bad.

Google “drywall sander with vacuum”. If you don’t plan to use it for more than the one job you can get a cheap one.
