How long do I have to wait until it’s truly water proof and safe to shower in?

Depending on temperature, ideal would be 68 degrees Fahrenheit, it should be about 24-36 hours. If it's cooler this time of year, give it a good two days. If you have a second shower give it a few days to be sure because why not.
