I snapped this photo on our way to Lake Solitude in Grand Teton National park via the Cascade Canyon Trail. Most people typically stop after the first half of the hike due to the grueling nature of the second half of the hike. Thankfully my buddies and I were well prepared with water filtration as we wouldn’t have made it otherwise to see this landscape! I’m very happy we set out early and did the whole trail (~15mi with a 2500ft elevation gain). Had they not been there, I wouldn’t have made it secondary to the rugged nature and my athletic shape at the time.

Solitude is a great hike and totally worth it. We went to Amphitheatre Lake as well and it’s just amazing. The Tetons are my favorite mountains.

What blows my mind is how very many people stopped within the first 3-4mi of the trail start to turn around. While I do realize that some people obviously have limitations, it just blew my mind how desolate the trail was, especially towards the end. I love the Tetons for sure, but my favorite park is hands down either Glacier or Arches out in Utah.
