You beat me to it! I actually just posted a comment on this post, but the trail itself was ~15mi with a 2500ft elevation gain round trip, but we decided to keep going in another 3mi since it was still early in the day and some people backpacking that came from the direction we were headed told us it was well worth it. Those are stats I just looked up on alltrails really quick, but our hike was roughly 21mi total with the end having a significant elevation change from the rest of the trail. So I’m not entirely sure EXACTLY how much elevation gain.

Any tips for someone who is going to attempt it this week ? How hot or cold was it ?

Bring a lot of water. I definitely underestimated how much I would need (2 x 1L Nalgenes) and thankfully I had a water purification pump I could pump clean water out of creeks along the way. Wear good hiking boots/shoes. It wasn’t too hot, granted I did this in August. I wore a light jacket and long sport pants along the way and was comfortable.

Oh August. I assumed it was very recent going by your post date, my bad. Thanks for the tips though!
