It's a beautiful climb to the submit but it get progressively hard since you are climbing on the left side and the higher you get the steeper it get!

I did this hike the day before I left Oahu. I was limping in the airport the next morning. I'd do it again too. The view was worth it.

You can see the trail on the left side of the crater. It looked like a train track or something just plopped on the surface.

I'm amazed you managed to get a photo of this without any obvious human-made objects in it. Just to the left is a gigantic residential area, a major highway runs through the valley right behind Koko Head, and the bay in the foreground is usually packed with snorkelers and divers.
