I wonder how long it takes to cover the entire shoreline with palms.

With assistance, protection, and active planting? 15-20 years.
Assuming humans are gone and nature takes its course?
Centuries. Being an (apparently) unprotected coastline, I'd wager longer still, as young plants would be eroded by weather/water and eaten by animals or just straight up not get enough nutrients.
It's insane just how long it can take some areas to regrow after being cleared (or in this case, probably not existing to begin with)

Yeah, but how's the water? I always wanted to swim in Hawaii, but I don't think I'll ever get there now...

It’s aggressive man, that shit will throw you around. I got thrown face first into a rock on the floor of the ocean and chipped my tooth

Thanks for the heads up, uh, so to speak.

Also! I would say that would never make it there. Big island is pretty accessible and affordable. The black sand beaches or really pretty! I’d recommend you visit. The humidity is too much for me to live there tho

I loved swimming and diving in Kauai. The water can be rough but as long as you're an able swimmer its nothing too challenging. I would definitely research the beach or area you're planning on swimming at though
carmium t1_iw7t5h3 wrote
Will do, in the unlikely case I'm ever there!
