Honestly, knowing how many people go fishing without ever managing to fish anything, they might as well just sit on the shoreline with a stick in their hands and no fishing line or hook.

I am fully convinced that Switzerland is not real. No place can be this stunningly beautiful without CGI. It's gotta be a conspiracy 😂

Ja seechaw! I am a proud resident of Frauenfeld!

But yeah, TG can be quite boring to some. I love it, reminds me of home :)

4

rex_swiss t1_j602cgf wrote

TG is great, beautiful farmland and rolling hills, and far away from the crowded cities and the tourist places. I've spent a lot of time there visiting friends. But oh my, I don't know how you survive November to January with about 2 sunny days per month. I guess I am spoiled living in the Sunshine State...

2

Ldefeu t1_j656q90 wrote

I never knew about Frauenfeld, apples and cherries are normal but a wife orchard is really something unique

1

tinason3 t1_j5zlpya wrote

Some of these pictures may be real (stupidly beautiful) but I'm gonna call bullshit on the architecture. Gotta be CGI, too gorgeous 😂

Which lake is this?

I did a 4.5 day hike with a group of friends a few years back in Appenzell and it's probably my favorite trip I've ever done.

27

Doeeme OP t1_j5y5fvr wrote

It's lake Fälensee!

28

axxl75 t1_j5y6wqt wrote

Yeah that's what I thought! We had dinner one of the days at Berggasthaus Bollenwees which is right on the end of that lake. When we were there the lake was like 90% dry though so it definitely didn't look like that, but the valley looked very familiar.

Great photos.

There is this mountain range called Alpstein in Appenzell, consisting of lots of peaks and 3 absolutely beautiful lakes (the one on the picture being one of them). If you have time and some good hiking boots, you must go on some hikes there!
