I'm going camping at hosmer Grove and kipahulu campgrounds pretty soon. Want advice for hikes to do or things to see?

The 6 mile loop trail through Hosmer's Grove is awesome, you probably already have that on your list of course. Snorkeling/diving with the Sea Turtles in Turtle Town was incredible as well. So many turtles, sooo close, I kept having to swim away from them to stay in compliance with federal endangered species laws. If you want to go to the Black Beach, make a reservation in advance, there are no same day reservations. It's worth it to rent a car for Road to Hana rather than a tour bus. Check out The Paia Fish Market for great fresh fish at decent prices. There is an app I highly recommend called Gypsy Guide that gives you a ton of info for self guided touring. Hope that helps, wishing you an amazing journey.

Very helpful! We are renting a car and the fish market sounds great, we had heard that foodland has good poke but will have to try this place too!

Thanks for the tips! We'll definitely check out the loop trail and the fish market. We'll look into the Gypsy Guide app, too.

I did a 14-mile home there at the end of 2021 and it was absolutely breathtaking going above and below the clouds so many times. Amazing shot, thank you for sharing!

Also- get the banana bread being sold out of an old bus on the right side of the road a few miles before hitting Hana. You're welcome. 😎

Truly, the volcano looked like a painting to me. I really had to look at it before I accepted it as a photo. Given, I have less 20/20 vision. lol

When we arrived it was packed in with clouds. We had to wait them out to catch this view, for a brief few minutes they lifted and it felt so foreign and beautiful and breath taking. This was just one of several cinder cones at this location. I have a wide angle that was neat as well but this was my favorite.
