How do you even get to places like that
blinkysmurf t1_j4hgity wrote
There are hundreds of places like this in BC, just pick one.
Often, “all” that is involved is driving for hours and then hiking for hours.

13 hour drive from Vancouver BC. It's in the middle of nowhere basically :)

I grew up there. Can confirm it is still the middle of nowhere 20 years later

I still regret not buying an "I survived The Hill" shirt at Kopas store in the 80s.

The hill truly is one of the wildest sections of "highway" I've seen in Canada. Back when I worked out in bella coola I was told it was blasted by only two guys. If you've been on that road it's hard to imagine how that was even constructed

Half of BC looks like this
adrienjz888 t1_j4ikqb3 wrote
A lot more than half. Over 700,000 km² of BC's 944,000 km² is mountainous, more area covered by mountains than the total area of Texas. The northeastern corner of the province is the only large area that's fairly flat. The lower mainland, where 2.8 million of BC's 5 million people live, is only 36,000 km².
