After being enveloped by low clouds all morning, the wind picked up and slowly revealed the giant peaks around us. I loved the way the cloud wrapped around the peak before dissipating.

Looks like pasqueflower.
MayonaiseBaron t1_j708nt1 wrote
Its a species of Eriophorum. "Tussock Grass" or "Cotton Sedge." Its in the Sedge family Cyperaceae.
We get a ton of it in New England, a lot of the Greenland plants do well here at the higher elevations.

Its a sedge, not related to cotton, but one of my favorite plants. We get it or a different species in the genus in bogs here in New England.

Thank you. Pasqueflower isn't a sedge, but is an anemone. Fields of it in the correct light resemble that photo. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anemone_occidentalis
And this is one I took: http://www.backpackingamericanwest.com/uploads/6/1/2/6/61260235/9369751_orig.jpg
