Yeah I tried to get a perfect mirror but the water wasn’t still and it blended them mostly into oblivion in every shot I tried :-/

Yea, I guess water has to be perfect for this to look good

Yeah I can get it when I can do a 30sec+ shot to fully smooth it, like this 1min exposure.

But even at 8secs, stars have trails :(

Yeah, you need a rig to make your camera rotate at the same speed as the earth otherwise

You could edit it in from the actual sky but I actually think it looms better this way!

Yeah I tend not to even get too aggressive w the saturation slider, let alone cloning stars :) I’ll try again later. The perfect conditions will come

Since star trails are a really expensive problem to solve (and stopping the Earth's rotation is too rich even for Jeff Bezos), you could easily tackle this without resorting to cloning by taking a 2nd shot - a longer exposure with much lower ISO for that tasty water reflection, and then combine the images :)
Oh and Topaz Denoise sends its regards.

Oi, it's not mine per se :D just fed it into the denoise app and it did the rest :)

This one worked perfectly but Im not sure water counts as “earth” for this sub https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52670870255_16eb10a1d1_b.jpg

Any shot that doesn't include humans, human-made objects or animals (but..but why?) is okay, so the way of water is okay too unless you're James bloody Cameron trying to make real water bubbles and CGI. If you are, shame on you!
