Can I ask questions? Tryna get my half dome on later this year.

If I enter the lotto for 3-4 days later in the year, is there any indication how likely I am to get a spot?
Does speed of entry on the lotto change anything? Like first come first serve?
Where did you stay?
If you can't stay very near, is there ample parking near any sort of trailheads to get started on the trail?

I hiked in 2018, so verify all this:

You're talking about the week of lotto? I'm not sure because I was able to get permits. There was a chart online with how likely you were to get a spot based on specific days.
Probably not totally advised, but on the day I hiked, the marshall wasn't checking permits at the cables (maybe they showed up later in the day)

Yeah, lots of parking at the trailhead because you'll be starting in the early hours of the morning before the tourists arrive.

Bring gloves for the cables!
