I don't see the point. Do you want progress or not? I can only imagine the conversations people were having after nuclear energy's big debut. 200k ppl wiped out from the click of a button. It shouldn't have been allowed but that's another debate. For this conversation, the world had a new energy source and have since refrained from annihilating each other.

AI may play out the same way. If it becomes highly disruptive there will be growing pains. But humans throughout history have always found something to do. New jobs, new ways of life. I say bring it on

Honestly not a bad analogy. If we are able to use it correctly, it could be a MASSIVE boon to the quality of life of everyone. If it's not properly developed and regulated, we could have a massive shift in wealth destroying the middle class.
