you're reffering to slangs, I believe. That's a stupid take, we always had them and once people don't consider them cool anymore they move on. Furthermore, academic papers will not accept shortended words.

Not really. Slang is like a spin off of a certain word like bad neughbourhood - gutter. This are just shorter versions of existing words, and when they are used long enough and frequently the linguists will start adding them into dictionaries

Even if words get added to the dictionary that doesn't mean they will get replaced. And it doesnt even take a genius to find out that sus is not suitable to cover suspicion, suspect, suspicious and so on.
