I got to see them live a few years back right after we lost our daughter.

Probably one of the most poignant and beautiful and cathartic experiences I've had with art.

NMH has an absolute cornerstone spot in our hearts.

There was an album of Christmas music from the 70s that my family would always play during the holidays that had an identical horn solo. I doubt they were consciously copying it but it was uncanny the first time I heard the song, live on their tour in support of the album, and in the middle of this mind blowingly novel music was a trumpet line I was intimately familiar with.

Seems like lately, lots of artists are being called out for their involvement in taking advantage of being in a position of power. I'm not mad at the people calling them out, but it hurts to see artists I respected do the thing that so many humans do the moment they have an edge on someone else.
