Oh yeah, didn't give much thought to mobile. Sorry, I'll work on the UI for it too.

Cool, thanks. I often build for desktop size first, then optimize for mobile, so I get it.
I avoid the depressing world news most of the time so it looks really handy to catch up.

Seems like you wouldn't catch up to important events. E.g. if you look right now you wouldn't even know Ukraine is invaded by Russia and UK is paralyzed by strike actions

This is a good shout for OP.
IMHO you'd need a team of researchers constantly on different world news outlets, I'd happily take that job though. I do it daily anyway..

I wasn't saying OP's site is not functioning well, that is an entirely different challenge so solve (and I doubt it is solvable by simple web scraping). His site is just about urgent news of the world.

It says right on the sidebar: Conflicts (WIP). At least it does when I looked at it, I agree though, the very first thing I thought was, why is Ukraine blank?

Huh! I always build simultaneously since I know it’s going to be a lot of tech debt.

I was taught to always build for mobile first because it's easier to extend the mobile version than it is to shrink the desktop version

The auto zoom on mobile is a bit annoying too, because you end up with so little of the map visible and have to zoom out again every time you look at an item.
This is a brilliant idea though, I love this.
