Firmly agree. Just stand closer to put a little zip on the ball.

If needed, get something to stand behind, but honestly the kiddo won't hit it that hard.

You also need to stand far enough away so they can track the ball.

Many people stand way to close when pitching to a small child

brushback pitches will also help with their reaction speed.

If they take you deep on one make sure you hit them with the next pitch. No time like the present to learn that actions have consequences.
