Or clean it yourself. Even with a toothpick you can remove all the lint and dirt.

Piggybacking on this: you can buy gentle cleaning kits with special putty and swabs exactly for this job. No pointy things required.

Although buying a port cover would help prevent the problem in the first place.

I advised against that, simply because most people aren’t careful enough sticking a pointed wooded object into an electronic port with tiny pins that could ruin your phone.

To be honest, I have never experienced the need for the charging port to be cleaned with either of the five mobile phones I owned on the last 30 odd years?

If you put your phone in your pocket always have the charging port facing up.

That doesn’t prevent much. Lint and gunk will build up regardless. Put in your bag, pocket, upside, downside. I’ve tried them all, they all end up the same.

After messing up several phones like that over a decade I started doing that religiously. Now I have had the same phone for 3 years with no problems. It works for me.

Fully believe it’s just the lifestyle we live. I’m on my phone 24/7 for work and home. I don’t look at it when I’m placing it in my pocket 99.9% of the time. I don’t think anyone else really does either.

Either way, I suggested an easy an free fix. And like always, yes, there is preventative measures.
