Corn chips such as Doritos work great.

FYI cool ranch works better than nacho cheese. And they smell great too!

So you brought hand sanitizer instead of a lighter fluid?

While camping you went to a store and didn't think to ask about camp fire solutions yet asked about hand sanitizer?

This is a medical aircraft survival tip. We have lots of alcohol-based things like sanitizer and wipes, and they work wonders for fire starting.

Or, alternatively, learn how to start a fire using tinder and kindling.

LPT: Understand how to build a fire, how to find, harvest and prepare tinder and kindling.

Additional LPT: Wood doesn't burn. Look it up.

Can confirm. My gf and I were camping and the squirrels and turtles have the sanitizer game on lock. Price is a bit higher than the supermarket but the deer have raised shipping and handling costs and it just gets passed on to the consumers.

I just use a knife to make some shavings, and small kindling.
