I totally agree. Done is better than perfect.
You could have an ongoing rota of cleaning that you do across the week whether it actively looks dirty or not. Do the rest as it appears to be needed.

Np :) I would recommend you do different small parts on different days of the week if you can though, to avoid having to do it all one day. Save the big jobs for non-working days when you have more time.

I do the regular cleaning almost daily, just a little bit every day. A clean bathroom, kitchen and dog hair free floors is a necessity for me. But cleaning out the fridge, washing on top of kitchen cabinets, doing the windows etc, those things are for the big cleaning days!
I clean my apartment weekly and do a mini clean of the washroom daily. My friends day oh your place is never dirty, why do you clean weekly? It's really easy to keep your place clean if you make daily attempts to do so, unless you have toddlers.
Says a person without ADHD. Lol I’m teasing btw not being rude. If you don’t have it then it so hard to understand but if you do my peeps know what I’m saying. That is the best solution though so there’s not so much to do at one time 😀
I have severe ADHD, like it's hard for me to fill out forms and walk through doors due to how distractible I am, let alone drive, do my job, etc. This is still the way to go. It's not like I don't know how to clean; what I had to develop was the motivation to do it and just get it done. Of course, the main thing that helped me do that was buying a house that I like. When I was living with my parents, my comorbid depression was what stopped me from overcoming the ADHD inclinations.
Honestly, no. This method works better almost 100% of the time. It doesn't work if you rarely go home and that's all I think
Yeah I guess it's more about what we each define as clean as you go. Like I consider dusting and vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, wiping stoves and counters, as my cleaning day. I'm not going to clean my toilet after every use, or every night. I'm not going to vacuum after every meal, etc.
Once a week I do a deep clean of everything. Cleaning as I go helps make my cleaning day only a couple hours versus all day though.
Can you tell this to my roommate
I wish. I clean every day, but there are still chores that are big tasks that take hours (like cleaning/organizing the garage). But I also work so those big chores are often the most neglected. In fact, I just took a week of PTO so that I could tackle said tasks and prep for the holidays. Instead, I got the flu. Nothing got done and I'm back to work today. Damn you, universe!!
I came to the comments to say exactly this. Definitely easier said than done for our brains! 😂
My new mantra is "don't put it down, put it away" ... It helps sometimes 🤣
Ooohhh yes! Yes it is haha
I don’t know if Marie Kondo would agree with that
I just need to have another task I want to avoid, then suddenly cleaning is all I want to do and it’s very important I stop everything else until the cleaning is done.
