My dogs have been sprayed 4 times in the last 12 years. I've tried everything in the past but the smell always lingers for days sometimes much longer. Well the new dog was in the yard around 9 PM the other night and tried to play with the funny looking black-and-white puppy.

Threw him in the tub and opened the cabinet to get the dog shampoo. Saw my bottle of scent killer body wash I use for deer hunting so I said why not give it a shot. Lathered him up let it sit for 5 minutes and rinsed really well. Smell gone, absolutely incredible. No side effects 3 days later like dandruff or itchy skin.

They sell dog specific odor killing enzyme shampoo. Dont use human body wash on your dog. Its not good for their skin

Edit- best one ive used is called “de-skunk”. Comes in a purple bottle. Had my dog snelling right after two washes.

Just have to try to get your dog in the bath as quickly as possible after getting skunked. Thats the biggest thing

1/4 cup of baking soda 1 quart of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide solution And a small squirt of dawn dish soap

I've had to use this twice for 2 different dogs and it works like a champ

The trick is not to take the handheld sprayer and wet the dog down first. I made this mistake and only got about 75% of the stink off the dog. So pissed at myself when I re-read the instructions.

Poor Tucker got skunked and we used Nature's Miracle. It took two washes and we even used it to shampoo the carpets.

I did that with a cat once, was not a particularly good outcome
