A lot of the newer washers, especially the ones without the center agitator do not start filling up with water until you close the lid. When you open the lid up again, the water stops. It kind of sucks.

Mine locks the lid as soon as it starts the cycle. I heartily dislike the set, especially since I can't figure out how to turn off the stupid song-alarm on the dryer.

This is a rental, so the manual either is with the owner or got tossed. I’ll try online again — I did once before but got distracted by prices and never followed through.
