It’s more for authentication (FB/Google login), purchases, tracking installs, DAU, other metrics, and in case we need to push a hotfix that forces players to restart or install a forced update before they can keep playing, but yes, that is a major part of it for games that monetize using ads.

You can also use AdGuard DNS to block ads at a DNS level
I basically never see mobile app ads
Kills ads…also kills ability to play game… r/shittylifeprotips
Depends on the game, but yeah, mobile games are trending more towards online only for many reasons.
That's really useful! It's great to know that users can control their data usage like that.

In my experience, most apps have a feature where if they can't show you ads, they just won't function, period.
don’t think you can do this on an per-app basis on iOS.
I would feel bad doing that, for the developers. Want no ads? Pay for full version.
Downvoting because this is information you do not share to the public just for some karma. Developers need to make money or they won’t develop.
And they’ll be forced to develop actually valuable software or work in another field? Is there a downside here?
Nah fuck the devs who develop predatory loot box paywall shit
