Also for context, I’m a 23 y/o guy. I don’t drink. Love outdoors and thrift/antiques and nice views.

Some lesser know places: Hwy 9, Cutler Coast, Quoddy Head, Eastport, Polar Treat, Waas Preserve, Tunk Mountain, any public library.

Near Acadia, off-island:

You’re about to be in thrift/antique heaven. There are so many I haven’t been to, but here are my favorites.

Country Store Antiques (207) 667-5922 https://maps.app.goo.gl/t4otGR7qXufuJC7u5?g_st=ic

One could spend 4 hours here easy

Old Creamery Antique Mall (207) 667-0522 https://maps.app.goo.gl/aiMpUBfLoCPfPjEz6?g_st=ic

1A Relics (207) 412-0822 https://maps.app.goo.gl/aKCKCdwBFuW1qvR96?g_st=ic

Ernie’s Antiques https://maps.app.goo.gl/SiiWRAC4HfrdDUBG8?g_st=ic

Near Acadia, on-island:

Serendipity (207) 288-2000 https://maps.app.goo.gl/uu6bd9GKk5wgS81Q8?g_st=ic

Dragonflys Cottage (207) 479-2500 https://maps.app.goo.gl/nu45h9xYKzJ6CB9T8?g_st=ic

This is on the quietside along with the hikes below.

For hiking:

Don’t skip out on the quiet side. Go to Beech Mountain, short strenuous hike up to the fire tower or east walk over to the cliffs. Stop by beech hill farm while you’re at it.

Other easy hikes that are good for dogs are Ship Harbor and Wonderland.

Have a blast.

Katahdin for sure. Or any of the other 4k peaks would work. Bigelow, Abrahams, Sugarloaf, Crocker, Old Speck, etc…

Also, you can literally stop anywhere and get amazing weed. Nothing like smoking a doobie at the top of a Maine mountain…

Belfast has lots of antique places and can be on the way to Acadia. It’s also just a cute little area.

if you’re into antiques i’d recommend the ellsworth flea market and 1a relics, they’re about a 5 min drive from each other.
