I haven't been here in years but it's still so nostalgic to me. I should go back sometime soon

Pardon my away, but why is it Hobbitland?

There’s a stone bridge and dam and other structures. Plus, you’ve got a stream running through the place and lots of different vegetation. Kinda makes it feel a little like The Shire. Source: grew up there.

Of all the cool things to take pics of, OP picked the worst possible photo to try to make a Shire comparison. This could be any fucking pond or lake in Maine. Don't even get me started on the post-processing, my eyes hurt too badly to keep typing.

Op wasn't making a comparison, the locals call the trails in that area hobbitland

>post-processing,

I've seen Maine look like that in real life, totally unreal. My phone never catches it properly.

It’s what we call woodsy places we go when we get high on mushrooms.

So, Maine?

Not all of Maine can be called Hobbitland, even if you’re shrooming at the Biddeford Marden’s, making a couch cushion and luggage fort.

Vaughn's Woods is a particular, actual place in Hallowell, Maine that is locally known as Hobbitland.

Great pic! Did some winter hiking around there a couple years ago. Got a cool video of some eater running beneath ice near that cool stone bridge.

I almost slid off an icy cliff there one winter. It was a loooong way down to some icy rocks.

Hallowell. So much prettier than it actually is.
