I hate to recommend them, but honestly, Airbnb hosts may work with you?
My landlord works with any type of workers (nurses, construction, etc) for their Airbnb units.
Otherwise, housing is short lately, there are plenty of people looking for housing and unable to find affordable housing... But airbnbs are EVERYWHERE.
Browse through the areas you're looking at and try contacting the host. Most would be very happy to at least have someone in to make money off of, especially this time of year.
I know a couple travel nurses that are getting absolutely hosed on their apartments. They took whatever they could find and are paying $2000+ for small, shitty apartments. You’ll have to get lucky, especially with 2 dogs.
Maybe rent a house and split it with a couple other nurses?
FurnishedFinder?
I’ve been living in rentals with two dogs for 3 years now 🙃
Not in southern Maine you haven’t.
Yeah an air b n b guy in Portsmouth nh with a studio wants me to pay 3500. Im paying 2700$ in Beverly Hills currently so no sir that’s too much for NH 🤣
How many of those in Maine?
I was waiting for this
Massachusetts
Why aren’t they dog friendly when the dog beaches are open until June
It has nothing to do with being dog friendly.
I know someone in Bangor? Definitely not southern Maine but fully furnished and dog friendly. DM me if you want
How far away is that ??
Then what’s the problem zing zong
Hours more than it would be worth, best case scenario for you is a winter rental but the dogs are gonna make it really tough.
My husband and I moved to Maine from Texas this summer. I thought, “I’ll start looking a month and a half in advance. That’s enough time.” Wrong. So wrong.
We ended up moving to northern Maine in a rural town (hours northeast of Portland) because we also have pets. Southern Maine had zero availability, almost every apartment had waiting lists, and any rentals that allowed pets were only okay with one small dog at the very least.
Landlords are the problem
Did you try furnished finders?
I’d try reaching out to the travel nurse coordinator at whatever hospital you’re looking to work at. They’ll have a list of rentals available and will know if they allow pets or not.
Ok thanks
I have been looking there is not a lot besides sketchy hotels but I will keep trying
Okay I will check those thanks !
How long are you looking to rent for? What kind of dogs?
13 weeks for now and I have a two retrievers
Fetch and kisses lol
