Somehow people do it... but I use the windows key many many times per day.

I've definitely become more and more of a fan of the windows key. Loving Win+Shift+S

I could use AHK and just bind the shortcut to something else since I use it so much, but there are other things I use winkey for anyway which would force me to rebind the windows key and at that point, why have a WKL.

The snipping tool is a resource hungry, featureless abomination.

If you are not using Greenshot instead, bound to PrnScr, which you then put anywhere you want with your firmware, you are missing out.

65% blockers don't generally remove the Windows key. They're either badge-style blockers in the top right of the board, or they're near the arrows.

Occasionally you'll see a WKL-style blocker on the left, but that's not as common as what the meme would be pointing to.

Also, with QMK, it's really easy to put the Windows key somewhere else.

I’ve seen this response a bunch here. You are definitely correct. When talking about a blocker on a 65% 9 times out of 10 it’s the blocked between the arrow keys and 2x1.25u right side mods. Compared to a 65% without blockers which had 3x1u right side modifiers right up against the arrows

Same, but I like the way WKL looks. I'm considering getting one and just remapping a button I don't use, like right Alt or Ctrl or something, for Windows key.

Caps Lock to Windows key, and put Caps in 2nd layer?

Swing_Top t1_jcklu0p wrote

Wouldn't have considered that! Nice idea, it's there but yes, when does it actually get used.

It's HHKB inspired, their layout has Control instead of Caps Lock

Or just don't put caps at all because when do you even use that?

Almost never. But having it in 2nd layer doesn't hurt :D

Modern Leopolds have a dip switch for that. Flip the first dip switch on the bottom and CTRL and Caps Lock are swapped. No additional layer needed.

As a hot key fanboy, the only key (that would be on a 65%) that I dont use is caps lock.
