TLDR: Adafruit Feather 32u4 bluefruit LE + a 10000 mAh battery. Someone wrote a 32u4 QMK firmware for it. I also added Vial support! I’ll clean it up and PR it to Vial.

Only thing I wish it had was the ability to switch between Bluetooth connections. But QMK has pretty limited support. You can toggle between USB and BT tho. Which is sick.

Given how iOS on mobile devices doesn't have them by default either, I guess it's just a family tradition.
