Came here to say this. Actor or strange mercy would fit.
Masseduction and Marry Me also. She's, in the best way possible, the female Bowie.
I recommend your typical lateralus and 10,000 days albums by Tool. Also, dark side of the moon, the wall, and the meddle albums by pink Floyd.
This is pretty cool too https://youtu.be/8seEiQoGcMg
You might enjoy shoegaze so some albums I'd recommend:
Souvlaki by Slowdive, Loveless by My bloody valentine, Is the Is Are by DIIV
Loveless is wtf at first, especially if you don't play it loud. But loud, it's pure blissfull majestic beauty
true, should be fine if they enjoy that kind of fuzzy tone
Silver jews. Natural bridge
Just found this band the other day for the first time. New favorite for sure
Essential? Old school stuff like Roxy Music's "Avalon," and Kate Bush's "Hounds of Love." "Boys and Girls" by Bryan Ferry.
Kate Bush is so underrated even after ST.
"Avalon" is a fucking masterpiece!!
Try out Agalloch’s album “The Mantle.” It’s not in the same vein of subgenre, but it is artful. Folk music & black metal in the most gorgeous and impassioned way.

King Crimson - In the court of the crimson king
Velvet Underground - Velvet Underground & Nico
Black Country, New Road - Ants from up there

Feathergun by Rishloo
Lamp Lit Prose. First 4 tracks. You're welcome.

Any early (first five) album by Pixies, massive influence on Radiohead
Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by Smashing Pumpkins
Metallica's self titled album entitled Metallica. Most Metallica fans just call it The Black Album though.
