If it wasn’t for Lennon & McCartney…harrisson & starr would of been session musicians (at best)

Odd considering that he had the best solo album of the bunch, and wrote some very iconic Beatles songs solo.

My favorite Beatle. You can see his progress as a songwriter in real time. From "Don't Bother Me" on With The Beatles, to I Need You, You Like Me Too Much, Think For Yourself, If I Needed Someone, and then to Something and Here Comes the Sun. Not to mention All Things Must Pass and his solo career. At first, he felt like he couldn't compete with Paul and John. But he's an example of how anybody can see progress if they stick to something.

One of my daughters shares his birthday. The other shares his name.
Each Beatle has had a turn as my favorite. George probably had the longest tenure when I was first learning to play guitar.

Didn't he help fund Monty Python and The Holy Grail because he wanted to see it?
(Edit: it was Life of Brian, thanks for the info)
smilefacefrownface t1_j9zuk07 wrote
It was the Life of Brian. The Holy Grail was funded by Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, amongst others.
Blueharvst16 OP t1_ja03d5y wrote
I know he produced Time Bandits, which Terry Gilliam directed and co-wrote with Michael Palin, and starred John Cleese. So Monty Python had their hands all in that.
