You should see him in The Getaway with Steve McQueen. He’s truly menacing. Great movie.

His voice and delivery were superb. His scene speaking Italian with no subtitles was awesome!

You posted the name so I looked up his wiki and it said he was born in 1928. “Oh thank god, 1928 was waaay before the Godfather, so the title was just a joke.”

Then I did the math. Jesus he really was only in his mid-40s in that picture. He died at 47. From a heart attack. At 47. I’m almost 47.

7

Capnmarvel76 t1_jabbv5v wrote

He was evidently quite an enthusiast of the, erm…more interesting pharmaceuticals, which might explain a fatal heart attack at that age, even given the fact that he probably smoked like a chimney and drank all the liquor.

It’s the way people dressed, the hairstyle, the mustaches. You associate certain styles today with a certain age because at one point people stop following the fashion and keep dressing the same and keep the same hairstyles. Then they get old and that is the style you would associate old people with today. If you gave him a contemporary haircut and shaved the mustache, he’d look like a regular 44 year old from today. …and yes, the smoking, the lead from car exhaust, and the lack of sunscreen contribute as well.
