While Ioos did extensive work "in sports", his talent is primarily in fine-art portraiture, which is what leads to shots like this. He didnt approach hos sports work as "sports photographer". This is no knock on sports photographers, but I think this one photo perfectly illustrates the difference between the crafts.

It's like renaissance proportions - but stretched out, showing the magnitude of it all. So cool! I don't even like basketball.
