In WW-1, the govt made a ton of these. Immediately after the war, you could buy one dirt cheap.

Look more like standard .22 LR training rifles to me - I even have one upstairs from 1931. Looks identical to my ancient eyes.

I dunno. The two open bolts that I can see well look way too long for .22 LR and could easily be 30-06.
