By "Batman shoes", I guess they were specifically '89 Batman symbol Converse shoes, which were expensive to my parents. They tried showing me cheap pairs of shoes with Batman on them, and I had no interest in them. My mom, bless her heart, worked a lot of overtime hours before Christmas of '89 to specifically buy me those shoes.
