For context I live in Somerset County not far from the Mason Dixon line.
Its weird seeing rebel rags being waved outside homes, plastered on vehicles.
I'm not even that old, I'm 23, and grew up with kids who spewed Lost Cause, states rights rhetoric.
For me, it's sickening. PA has an extremely rich, deep History. The Confederacy invaded, burned Chambersburg. Kidnapped and enslaved free African American Pennsylvanians.
My family has been settled in the area since the pre Revolutionary War. My greatx4 grandfather fought for the Union in the 116th Regiment during the Civil War. I'm sure plenty of Pennsylvanians have a similar heritage.
It is mind boggling seeing people proudly display such ignorance/hatred. You expect that sorta thing in the deep south, but here? It is asinine.
