When fung ran againdt remondo a few years back for governer, Trillo ran against both and if i remember correctly stated in a debate he only ran to keep fung from winning

What does this have to do with correlation and/or causation? It is arithmetic. All challengers combined received 47% of the vote. Even if Fung got all Trillo votes he would have lost.Trillo was not a factor.

Because the nature of a primary is that candidates beat each other up. Did Trillo beat up Fung enough in the primary that it turned independent voters to Gina? There's a lot more than just math involved in elections.
