Great spot! I went close to open and I'll be back for sure

Big King was the best. Pickerel isn’t trying to fill Big King’s shoes, but they still succeed at honoring its legacy in many ways. It helps that they hired the same desert person.

Also the ramen is delicious.

Really great. And don’t sleep on that cabbage salad thing — it was almost as memorable as my ramen.

Love it! I think it’s much better than Y Noodle Bar

Nice atmosphere. Wasn't huge on the food personally. Felt like I'd rather go elsewhere for ramen. I'm willing to give it another try.

Went one night close to when they first opened, it was right before they closed for the night and it was amazing - highly recommend

Anyone know what’s coming in a few blocks away at the former Bucktown Chicken and Fish?

It's fine but not nearly as special as Big King was and tbh a bit overpriced. I would go to Ran Zan (or Yume Ga Arukara in Boston) over Pickerel anyway!
