Ha yes they’ve always felt fake. There’s nothing like turning 21 in RI then getting your fresh ID turned down at every bar and liquor store in the state.

You should have seen the ones we had 20 years ago. they were just laminated paper.

Yup. Recently moved from MA to RI and the difference in quality is noticeable.

pretty sure that’s how it’s suppose to be. i got a new rhode island ID and it definitely feels very flimsy and cheap.

The tracker is more of a thin strip than a chip per se, that’s the expensive part.

Yep. My wife's expired on her birthday and August and she got the new one. First thing I noticed when it came in the mail was how thin, cheap and fake it felt. I have to renew mine before December and I'm sure it will be the same thing.
