We traveled this past week, flying in and out of Green. I left our car in Garage C, because it's the least expensive option (I know of) that is indoors and allows you to walk to the terminal. What struck me as odd is that as you approach the airport, there is no signage that identifies the location of Garage C. As we left today, heading toward Rt 95, the sign near the entrance points left to Garages A and B, but Garage C has been covered over in green.

Is there some sort of business pissing match going on? Is signage at approaches to Green handled by the airport authority, and therefore a pay to play situation? It seems to be in the public interest to identify where the garage is located. Or perhaps we should just keep its location secret so that it doesn't get overused.

I don’t think there’s different companies doing any of the lots or garages? It’s all just whatever company the airport has running that stuff?

Fwiw, the long term lot’s shuttle is pretty frequent and it’s not a particularly bad walk if you don’t have super heavy bags and the weather isn’t too rough. Also, it’s like $12 if you pay in advance. Kinda hard to beat that

Or the Target Park across the street where they drop you off in your own car right at your gate, valet style. $7.99/day last I checked.

Garage C is around the same price. I parked there once with a co-worker driving a toyota 4x4 during a winter trip when it snowed. He had to climb out of the parking space and momentarily high-centered on a frozen ice ridge when we returned.

It sounds like you’re right. I found this article from 2017 about it: https://turnto10.com/news/local/garage-c-at-tf-green-offering-parking-for-peanuts.

TLDR: the RI Airport Corporation leased Garage C from New England Parking until the end of November 2017, when they leased it to Pro Park America, who rolled back the prices.

I love garage c - it’s a good price, a short walk to the terminal, and you get 1 free day of parking for every 7 paid days of parking.

here is the real deal. The airport leased the garage for decades from the owner of it. The airport does not own garage c. When the lease was up the airport wanted to buy garage c but the owner told the airport to take a hike and then changed the name of garage c to the red beam garage. When that happened a few years ago, the airport did everything it could to annoy the owners of garage c legally. For example - they stopped cleaning and clearing any path in the winter to make garage c accessible. They pile up snow around the entrance so cars avoid it. They removed all traces of garage c from any and all signage possible. Remember the airport used to lease garage c back in the days and used to call it the "park for peanuts" garage. Garage C is the only privately owned parking garage on the airport and they hate not being able to control it. it drives airport management bonkers. The amount of money the airport makes on parking is insane. For example the ceo gets paid over 500k a year. Or the money from 100 cars parking at the airport a day. Think about that and let it sink it. TF Green is a small puny airport. Why should the ceo of green get paid almost twice as much as the manager of LAX for example - it makes no sense at all.

It always felt like this garage wasn’t owned by the same entity that owned A and B. But I like their app and their prices. I think they used to be a legit garage C but I don’t know when it changed.

Park and Ride near the airport + Uber/Lift is a cheaper option than Garage C. Total cost typically is about $22-$30 all together. It depends on your trip duration, of course. But if you’re going to be gone for more than 3 days, it’s totally worth it.

We live out in the boonies, so Uber overage has been hit or miss, particularly for early and late arrivals. Other than that, Uber is probably a good idea.

Me too! That’s why I drive to the Park and Ride near the airport and then Uber from there.
