It's a great hobby. I usually hit up the beaches on the south coast right after big storms. A couple decades ago I found an 1841 $5 half eagle on some old farm land in South Kingstown that I had permission to detect on, unfortunately it's been turned into a housing development since then. The coin is in horrible shape, but it was a great find none the less.

I have only hit the beaches a few times but coincidentally I found this ring at Scarborough last week

I’ve had good luck in some of the public south shore fields too, just hoping to expand onto some unhunted private property….getting sick of digging shotgun shells by the bucket load.

It is literally so much fun. I didn’t know finding Pennies on Easton beach could be so much fun.

Yeah it becomes addictive, keep hoping that next swing will bring up an old coin from the 1700’s
