Anyone else notice lots of moths the last few days? They look like winter moths. I know an organism was released some years back to keep them in check. I’m wondering if the drought disrupted the balance that was keeping them in check?

Funny, I was just thinking about winter moths because it seems like I haven’t seen any in years.

Pretty sure we’re seeing them down here in Ashaway. ☹️

I sure hope it’s not them and it’s just a fluke.

I’m down in East Bay. Maybe I’m just not looking in the right places.

It was a parasitoid fly that was released. URI news. It really has controlled the winter moth pop in my area. Several years ago the caterpillars went to town on my trees and plants. The sound of their poop falling from the trees was constant. But then one year it stopped. See very few caterpillars in the Spring these days. But I admit I have noticed more moths the last few nights.
