Interesting is a great “get out of jail free” word. “What did you think of my novel? What do think if this blouse? What do you think of my haircut?” “Interesting.”

>nobody has ever said "what do you think of this blouse?"

Because "Interesting" as a descriptor is context-dependent.

It's reactionary:

Interesting is actually a great way to describe how you feela bour something

When you say it's...interesting, it means ir was either horrible, a dumb opinion, or that the person doesn't like it.

Therefore, you don't want your things to be interesting

I hate it when I'm playing a game or watching a movie, especially anime, and all the bad character can say is "interesting," followed by something like, "you look like a challenge."
