Many people are lambasting Anakin Skywalker. That is okay. His crimes cannot be forgiven. Yet his personal journey ended with him overcoming the darkness and mental illness and destroyed the most evil being in the galaxy who had the ability to torture the galaxy for possibly forever. He also essentially sacrificed himself and got rid of the second most evil being in the galaxy.

After people had to hide his kids from him, which he almost killed anyways. Then he murdered a multitude of people and only on his deathbed, does he finally do the right thing.
