I highly doubt it, cavemen must have drank the milk of any female mammal they killed, by necessity. We created cows much more recently, to provide us with meat and milk

Agreed. I used to think along the same lines as OP but when I thought about it, it's fairly natural. Especially as human babies drink milk anyway, I suppose we would have seen calves (or any mammal for that matter) doing the same thing.

Although admittedly, they don't look like our boobies, plus I don't like warm milk... Seems too fresh.

You don’t give enough credit to ingrained instincts that even humans would have had or the intelligence level in seeing animal young drinking like our young would.
