I mean, is tobacco a vegetable? What about mint? Not everything thats not a fruit is a vegetable.

Mint is an herb, herbs are used to make broths, broths are a type of soup.
Tobacco is also used as an herb (although as far as I'm aware it's extremely uncommon.)
