I’m moving to Stamford at the end of the year and hoping to slowly pick volleyball back up. I read in an older post that Cummings Park has pickup volleyball almost all year round — is this still the case? What is the scene like?
Also, if anyone has recommendations for other pickup spots (not looking to join a league yet) that would be awesome too :))

There’s always volleyball happening at Scalzi on Sunday nights!
I played all summer on the beach courts there with a social sports league. Since the weather has changed, there is now a fall league that plays inside a gym and there will also be a winter league.
But they do have a volleyball league. I lost the link but when I get the link I'll post it. I've been wanting to get into volleyball but I got way out of shape/had a back injury and have been working on That first (170 -> 210 😭)
Do you have more info? I’m looking to start playing volley ball in Stamford but didn’t find much (I’m a complete beginner so not sure if i can join a league)

There is beach volleyball leagues through Stamford Recreation. There is indoor for most of the year and then beach at Cummings during the summer https://www.stamfordrecreation.com/adult-leagues/
I see people setting up as early as 3? Not really sure, I don’t play I just always see big groups of people playing out there
The Y downtown doesnt have the greatest reputation. But the Italian Center and The Jewish Centers all have leagues. Look online.
